Abstract:<正> Immunochemical rnethods, viral tissue culture and dlectron microscopic observationtechiniques were used to study the distribution of HFRS virus in the tissues and cells of patients withHFRS and sorne of their abotive faus. The results showed that HFRS virus could infect many hu-man organs and cells and pass through plaoenta and blood-brain barrier, and was characteristic ofpantropical infection, the duration of the viremia of the patients being mostly near a week.Thestudy is valuable for elucidation pathogenesis of the disease.
Abstract:<正> A model of burn shock was reproduced in rats and the changes of water content andmalondialdehyde(MDA)concentration in tissues were measured. The results showed that there wasa significant increase of MDA concentration and water content in lung and bumed skin post burnand a positive correlation was found between MDA level and water content.Pretreatment withsuperoxide dismutase(SOD)prevented effectively lung and skin from edema. The role of oxygen freeradicals in vascular permeability disturbance and development of edema in burns was discussed.
Abstract:<正> One hundred and ninety-five mice were used to study the mechanism of the protective ef-fects of folic acid on nitroqine toxicity to the small intestine. After oral administration of nitroquineacetate(570mg/kg×1),intramuscular injection of normal saline was given to one group of mice(NS group)and intramuscular injection of folic acid(8mg/kg×1)to another(NF group).Decrease incells in the crypts were observed in the animals of NS group, but the changes were much milder inthose of NF group even at 96 h after administration. The decrease of DNA content in the tissues ofthe small intestine was dose-and time-dependent.The value of cpm/mg of DNA after 3H-TdRincorporation were much higher in NF group than in NS group.these rcsults suggest that DNA synthesis in the small intestine may be promoted by folic acid so thatthe renair of the damaged intestinal mucosa is acoelerated.

Abstract:<正> A lot of research work has been carriod out on thc lungs after blast injury, but nomorphomctric study of the blast-injured lungs has ever been reported so far.The authors quantifiedthe morphological changes of the lungs with blast injury in rats with stereological methods.t wasfound that following the blast injury, the pulmonary capillary volume and the intcmal surface arca de-creased significantly, while the arithmetic and harmonic mean thickness of the air-blood barrier andthe volume of polymorphonuclear leucocytes and platelets in the capillaries incrcased markedly.Themorphometric oxygen diffusion capacity of the lungs was remarkably reduced mainly due to the de-crease of the conductance of the air-blood barrier and erythrocytcs. In addition, the changes of theoxygen diffussion capacity of the lungs were closely related to the partial pressure of arteria/blood oxy-gen.These facts imply that the damage to the pulmonary capillaries was one of the main causes ofalveolar bleeding and early respiratory insufficiency. It is possible that a mathematic relationshipcould be established between the intensity of the blast impact and the consequent morphologicalchanges of the injured lungs.

Abstract:<正> A crude preparation of lymphocyte chalone was extracted from calf Spleen using coldaoctone and distilled water. Its inhibitory cffect on mouse lymphocyte proliferation was demonstratedby 3H-TdR incorporation method in vitro. This extract shoed no inhibitory effect on the3H-TdR uptake of K562 cells and displayed no cytotoxicity to mouse lymphocyte, suggesting thatthere existed the activity of lymphocytc chalone in the extract. The crude chalone inhibited 3H-TdRuptake of mouse lymphocyte stimulated with concanavalin A(Con A)and mixed lymphocytc re-sponse(MLR),and the degree of the inhibition was greater as the doses of the extract in culturesbecame higher, indicating it had inhibitory effect on T lymphocytes Its influence on the numbers ofrosette-forming cells(RFC)and plaque-forming cells(PFC)in the spleen of mice revealed that ithad inhibitory effocts on some stages of immunization, including the actions on T and B lymphocytes
Abstract:<正> An animal model of epidemic(Japanese)B encephalitis was estabilisged by injecting theJin Wei Yah 1 stain of B encephalitis virus into the peritoneal cavity of mice. The ultrastructuralchanges of the nerve cells in their brains were studied, special attention being paid to some types ofnerve cell in the cerebellar cortex. The infectet Purkinje cells and especially the granular cells showedspecial and inter, sting pathological features. These were compared with the changes found in the in-fected nerve cells in the cerebral cortex, diencephalon and mesencephalon.A radiating structure consisting of a microveside-microtubule aggregation body at the centerand endoplastic reticulum or virus replication multivesicular structures around it was often found in thein fected nerve cells. Its morphological features were described in detail, and its significance and the se-quenoe of events of its development discussed. In the late stage of infection, virus particles were found in the nuclei of part of the necroticcells. It is considered that they entered the nuclei from the cytoplasm during or after the death of theinfected cells. The observation smade in this study have comfimed in the granular cell of the cerebellum theidea of Chert et al.that the encephalitis B virus particle can he formed in the perinudear cistem ofthe infected nerve cell, and have brought forth further information in this respect. The way of releaseof the virus particles from the infected nerve cells observed in this study is fundamentally consistentwith that observed by Chen et al.but most of the virus particles left the nerve cell via the cell pro-
Abstract:<正> The actions of thc hippocampal formation were studied by recording the electrical activi-tics of a single neuron of that area. Two different reactions of some neurons in CA2,CA3 and thedentate gyrus ntight occur after peripheral noxious stimulations, that is,increase of the reaction frc-qtcncy of the nociccptive cxcitcd neurons(NENs)and decrcasc of the macron frequeency of thenociocptive inhibited neurons(NENs).Flctrical acuptmcture of the“points”would result in inhib-iting cffcet on most of the NENs but disinhibiting cffcct on NENs.Identical effect to that ofacupunctre could be creatcd by injecting morphine to the expcrimental animals.Electricalstimulation of thc nucleus raphc magnus or peri-aqueduct gray mattcr could affcct the NENs andNINs in the hippocampus, and the results were similar to that of acupucture. When 5-HT was in-jccted into thc latcral ventricle or applied to thc hippocampal neurons through micro-iontophoresis,effects similar to that of acupuncture also occurred. These facts imply that the effects of peripheral“point”acupuncture on the eletrical activities of the neurons of the hippocampal formation might be rre-lated to the activities of the cndogenous serotoninergic neurons,or to the cndogenous morphine-likesubstance.The NENs would be inhibitod after large amounts of GABA were injected into the lateralventricle. The relationship between this phcnomenon and the acfivites of GABAergic intenrons inthe hippocampus awaits furthcr investigation .
Abstract:<正> This study examines the effects of x-adrenergic stimulation on coronaryvasodilation induced by selective doses of intracoronary adenosine. In anesthetized open-chest dogs, the left anterior descending coronary artery(LAD)was perfused at a constant flow and its perfusionpressure was measured,pr ctolol(2.5 mg)was infused into the LAD to block β1-adrenergicreceptors in the myocardium.Intracoronary adenosine at increasing doses produced graded decreasesin coronary vascular resistance by 8.7%(2μg/min),20.6%(10/μg/min)and 28%(50 μg/min)of the control.Identical doses(6μg)of intracoronary norepinephfine produced increases in coronaryvascular resistance by 17.4%(adenosine 2 μg/min),23.2%(adenosine 10μg/min)and 34.1%(adenosine 50 μg/min)of the control when coronary vessels were dilated by increasing doses ofadenosine, respectively. It is suggested that the constrictive effect of x-adrenergic stimulalion can ex-ert a limiting effect on adenosine-induced coronary vasodilation.
Abstract:<正> Five cases of colonic lilpomas, which are relatively rare in China, were diagnosed byfibrocolonoscopy with biopsy. All lipomas were resectecl through fibrocolonoscopy except that the tu-mor of one case measured 4.3 cm in diameter was rcsected surgically. Our results suggest that al-though in some ease the colonic lipomas may be neccssanily rcsccted by operation, most of themmighr be removed by librocolonoscope only.
Abstract:<正> Eight oligonucleotide fragments were designed with the aid of a computer and synthesizedaccording to the amino add sequcnce of human atrial natriuretic factor(ANF).By means of an-nealing and ligation, these fragments were assembled into an overlapping concatenator consisting oftwo ANF genes ligated by TGATG for termination and initiation of translation.Theconcatenator was omserted into plasmid pRC23 and the recobinant DNA was transformed into E.coli strain TAP106.Analysis by restriction enzyme mapping, hybridization and DNA sequenongshowed that the orientation and reading frame of the gene were correct.
