Abstract:<正> The influence of some factors on the in vitro detection of opsonicactivity of monoclonal antibodies against Plasmodium falciparum wasevaluated. The results showed that 20% of final concentration of theantibody, the ratio of 1 macrophage for 20 RBC, and 45 minutes incubationat 37℃ were considered to be suitable. The phagocytosis of schizontinfected red blood cell and free merozoite by macrophage was positivelyassociated with percentage of parasitized erythrocytes.
Abstract:<正> The therapeutic effectiveness of intramuscularly administeredsodium cobaltinitrite [Na3Co(NO2)6] in antagonizing cyanide poisoning indogs and cats was studied. A solution of Na3Co(NO2)6 in 10% dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) was intramuscularly injected to cyanide-poisoned dogswhen convulsion developed about 5-10 minutes after intramuscularadministration of 1-2.5 LD of potassium cyanide(KCN) or 15 seconds afterinhalation of 2LD50’s of hydrocyanic acid(HCN). It was found that afterbeing treated with Na3Co(NO2)6 20 out of the 22 KCN-poisoned dogs and 8but of the 10 HCN-poisoned dogs survived. A satisfactory therapeutic effectwas also observed in cats intoxicated with lethal doses of HCN. Ourstudies provide an experimental basis for the search for an effective cyanideantidote which possesses a fast antidotal effect and a convenient route ofadministration and is thus suitable for on-the-spot rescue in a chemicalcombat.
Abstract:<正> The specimens of 55 cases of hepatoma were prepared with routineparaffin and ultrathin sections. Under light microscope, 7 cases were gradeI hepatoma, and 38 and 10 cases were grade Ⅱ and Ⅲ, respectively.Ultrastructurally, the nucleoli were markedly enlarged, increased in numberand showed polymorphism. The more poorly differentiated hepatomasmanifested the more prominent abnormalities of the nucleoli. Thesephenomena were related closely to the vigorous metabolism of hepatoma. Onthe basis of the nucleolar changes, it might probably be regarded as one ofthe criteria for the differentiation of hepatomas and helpful to prognosis aswell.
Abstract:<正> Forearm ulnar cutaneous flap is a new type of flap which is safeand convinient, and it can be used for many purposes. It is superior to theradial cutaneous flap in that the wound on the donor site is ratherconcealed, the skin flap is less hairy, and it is easier to be made. The flapis suitable for repairing oral, maxillofacial and neck defects.Myocutaneous or osteomyocutaneous flap can be made on the basis of theskin flap. If the distal end of the flap is used as the pedicle, then anisland flap can be made for the repair of hand defect. The authors usedthis flap to repair 12 cases of oral or maxillofacial defects due to differentcauses. All the cases have been followed for 9-15 months. There wassatisfactory healing of the recipient site both cosmetically and functionallyin all the cases. At the donor site, there was no disturbance of the sensoryor motor functions of the forearm or the hand.
Abstract:<正> The pollen samples of Piper kadsura Ohwi collected from differenthabitats were studied with a scanning electron microscope(SEM). It was found thatthe pollen of P kadsura Ohwi was polytypic, which included boat shaped sulcatepollen grains (about 43.6-57.1%), oblate macroulcerate pollen grains (about38.6 - 46.3%) and tricolpoid pollen grains (about 4.3- 10.1%). Previously, the lattertwo were mistaken for inaperturate and trichotomosulcate pollen grains under opticmicroscope.
Abstract:<正> Three days after I.M. inoculation of ascitic H22 hepatoma cellsinto the thighs of Kunming strain mice (1.5 × 107 cells/mouse), the animalswere given I. P. injections of PSD - 007 in a dosage of 20 g/g body weight10 - 12 hr prior to x - radiation. It was found that 15 Gy radiationcombined with PSD - 007 promoted the tumor regression more significantlythan 15 Gy radiation alone, and that the therapeutic efficacy was 1.44 timesof the latter. In the combined group, it was histologically confirmed thatmore severe tumor injury was typified by copious degenerated tumor giantcells. The damage to karyolemma and mitochondria appeared earlier andmore serious. The results suggest that PSD - 007 has a goodradiosensitizing potential, and that the membranous structures may be thetarget site of sensitization by PSD 007.
Abstract:<正> Respiratory distress syndrome was inflicted on 30 dogs with anintravenous injection of oleic acid of the dose 0.06ml/kg. Half of theanimals were treated with anisodamine. Another 5 dogs were injected withsaline to serve as control. The dynamic changes of total hemolyticcomplement activity, neutrophil aggregation rate, platelet aggregation rate,fibrin degradation products, white cell count and platelet count in both theperipheral arterial and venous blood, and blood gas analysis were tested.The pathological and clinical changes were also observed. The results ofthe study suggest that the pathogenesis of respiratory distress syndromewas apparently related to the increase of complement activation, neutrophilaggregating activity, and blood coagulation. The therapeutic effect ofanisodamine can be enhanced if the complement-neutrophil-fibrindegradation products pathway is blocked.
Abstract:<正> The performances of the isolated working rat hearts perfusedwith modified K-H solution were stable for 90 min of perfusion time.However, the contractility and the total cardiac output decreasedsignificantly after 120 min. The acute regional ischemia produced by theligation of left main coronary artery in the isolated working rat hearts wasfollowed by decrease in cardial power production and increase in creatinephosphokinase release. Coronary flow restored to the preligation valueimmediately after the beginning of reperfusion following 30 min regionalischemia, but the cardiac function (as measured by total cardiac output andpower production) did not recover significantly and the creatinephosphokinase release even further increased during 15 min reperfusion.1.4 × 10-4 M puerarin significantly increased coronary flow and did notaffect other mechanical performances of the normal isolated working rathearts. However, 10-5M propranolol as well as 1.4 × 10-4 M puerarinreduced significantly the creatine phosphokinase release from the regionalischemic-reperfused myocardium and accelerated the recovery of the cardiacfunction during reperfusion time in the isolated working rat hearts. Theresults suggested that both puerarin and propranolol have direct benificialeffects on the ischemic-reperfused myocardium.
Abstract:<正> The biological effects of 36.11GHz millimeter-wave irradiation atlow power densities (1, 2 and 3mw/cm2) were studied on human hepatomacell line SMMC-7721 using scanning electron microscopy, histochemicalquantitative analysis of DNA by texture analysis system and cell cloningtechnique. After the irradiation, the surface structures of SMMC-7721cells were morphologically injured and both DNA content of interphasecells and clonogenic capacity of living cells were decreased significantly.
Abstract:<正> A new experimental extracorporeal circulation (ECC) in vivaheart was established in three randomized groups of eight rabbits each.Group I received insulin (6U/kg) together with a 50% glucose infusion(6g/kg) and potassium (1.2mEq/kg)(GIK) before operation, while group Ⅱreceived Ringer’s lactate solution and group Ⅲ received 50% glucosesolution at the same infusion rate. Forty minutes after ischemia, biopsiesof the heart were made in order to analyze the tissue contents of adenosinetriphosphate and creatine phosphate by means of bioluminescent technique.Myocardial glycogen level was examined by electron microscopy. The meanadenosine triphosphate content in group I was 6.31μ mol/g and wassignificantly (P<0.01) higher than that of group Ⅱ (3.63μ mol/g) andgroup Ⅲ(2.99 μ mol/g). The mean creatine phosphate content of group I,(4.02μ mol/g), was also significantly higher than that of group Ⅱ (2.13μmol/g)(P<0.05). The content of creatine phosphate of group Ⅲ was 3.20 μmol/g, with approximately significant difference as compared with group I.The myocardial ultrastructure of group I showed higher level of myocardialglycogen after ischemia. It is concluded that the preoperative use of GIKmay augment the storage of myocardial adenosine triphosphate, creatinephosphate and glycogen, which might enhance the myocardial tolerance toischemia.
Abstract:<正> Nine cases suffering from occlusion of the retrohepatic vena cavaassociated with liver veins(i.e. Budd-Chiari syndrome) were treated byprehepatic graft bypass. The cavoatrial shunt was performed in sevencases, the mesoatrial shunt and iliac-mesenteric-atrial shunt in two casesrespectively. The symptoms and signs in all the patients disappeared orwere relieved after operation. The follow-up survey in six cases for 6-21months shows that results are excellent. In five cases, a cavography on6-10 months postoperatively demonstrated patency of the graft.
Abstract:<正> The autonomic innervation of the gall bladder and theextrahepatic biliary ducts were studied on whole mount stretchpreparations and cryostat sections with acetylcholinesterase staining,glyoxylic acid induced fluorescence histochemical method andimmunohistochemical method. The cholinergic nerve of the gall bladder incats consists of subserous ganglionated plexus and submucousganglionated plexus. In the biliary ducts, the adrenergic nerves aredistributed in the subserosa and lamina propria along the blood vessels.The adrenergic nerves surround the non-fluorescent neurons forming abasket-like structure. The density of adrenergic nerves and theconcentration of noradrenaline are higher in the collum than in the fundusof the gall bladder. The highest density of adrenergic nerves andconcentration noradrenaline are found in the cystic duct.Immunohistochemical study revealed that there are 4 kinds ofimmunoreactive nerves, that is, vasoactive intestinal polypeptide, substanceP, L-enkephalin and somatostatin nerves distributed in the wall of thewhole bile duct system. They participate in the formation of nerveplexuses. Among the peptidergic nerves, vasoactive polypeptideimmunoreactive nerve is the richest, while the other 3 are rarely seen.Peptidergic nerves are densely distributed in the sphincter of Oddi.Finally, the physiological significance of peptidergic nerves in the billaryduct system was discussed.
Abstract:<正> By means of light and electron microscopy and texture analysissystem, the morphologic changes and the content of DNA after injection ofhematoporphyrin derivatives (HPD) in different pathways and the lightirradiation on mice H22 hepatoma were observed. This study showed thatintravenous injection of HPD and local administration in the tumor andred-light irradiation could result in obvious injury of tumor cells, especiallythe tumor local injection and light irradiation. In order to reduce variousside-effects, tumor local injection and light irradiation may be used inclinical treatment. This article provides morphological basis for reference.
