Three days after I.M. inoculation of ascitic H

hepatoma cellsinto the thighs of Kunming strain mice （1.5 × 10

cells/mouse）

the animalswere given I. P. injections of PSD - 007 in a dosage of 20 g/g body weight10 - 12 hr prior to x - radiation. It was found that 15 Gy radiationcombined with PSD - 007 promoted the tumor regression more significantlythan 15 Gy radiation alone

and that the therapeutic efficacy was 1.44 timesof the latter. In the combined group

it was histologically confirmed thatmore severe tumor injury was typified by copious degenerated tumor giantcells. The damage to karyolemma and mitochondria appeared earlier andmore serious. The results suggest that PSD - 007 has a goodradiosensitizing potential

and that the membranous structures may be thetarget site of sensitization by PSD 007.
