non-adrenergic cardiotonicagent

2-[（2-methoxy-4-methylsulfinyl）phenyl]-1H-imidazo[4

5-b]

pyridine（AR-L115BS）has been synthesized.The two key interme-diates

3-diaminopyridine and 2-methoxy-4-methyl-mercaptoben-zoic acid were prepared according to the routes submitted by Foxand Zipp respectively.The approaches were improved to adaptlarge scale laboratory preparation.The structure of the end productwas proved by elemental analysis
