Intraperitoneal injection of viable syngeneic hepatocytes apparent-ly improved the survival rate of D-galactosamine-induced acuteliver failure in rats

while transplantation of non-viable ceils wasineffective and even showed certain extent of clotting disorders.The microscopical examination of liver specimens and estimationof DNA synthesis by

H-TdR have suggested that early trans-plantation of viable hepatic cells may minimize the hepatic injury andpromote the regeneration and restoration of hepatic cells.
