Objective: To study the correlation between aquaporin-4 (AQP4) expression and diffusion-weighted ima-ging (DWI) in the process of ischemic brain edema for the molecular biologic mechanism of DWI. Methods: A total of34 Wistar rats were divided into 8 groups randomly: Non-operated group (n=4)
sham-operated group (n=6)
andoperated group
receiving right midddle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) for 15 and 30 min
