摘要

Abstract

<正> The immunofluorescent cytochemical method was used to test VCA-IgAantibody of serum EB virus in 31 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma andin 13 patients with non-nasopharyngeal carcinoma.The positive rate ofVCA-IgA antibody was 89.28% in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.Sixcases of other malignant tumors of the head and neck were negative.Fivein 7 cases of chronic inflammation of nasopharyngeal mucosa were alsonegative.The control experiments manifested no false positivity or nega-tivity.The results suggest that VCA-IgA antibody of EB virus has definitespecificity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.EB virus probably hasetiologic significance.This paper demonstrates the intimate relationship between EB virus andpoorly differentiated squamous carcinoma

whereas well differentiated squ-amous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma may probably bear no relation to EBvirus.Clinical observations confirm that VCA-IgA antibody test is of somevalue in early and differential diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
