The pharmacological effect about the recipe of ancient Chinesemedicine and herb drugs—Gegen Qinlian Decoction(GGQLD)was studied. The results showed that it could markedly lower the body temperature of feverishrabbits caused by infection of pentavaccine. The effect is as strong as that ofAspirin compound(APC)
there is no statistical significance between animaltreated by GGQLD and those by APC.It could also inhibit the growth of manykinds of bacteria(Staphylococcus;Bacillus dysenteriae;Pneumococcus)in vivoand in vitro. It was observed that the percentage of ANAE
+
lymphocytes in thespleen and lymphonodes and the number of PFC in the spleen of mouse could beincreased by GGQLD.Meanwhile
the phagocytic effect of peritoneal macrophagesin mice treated by GGQLD was strengthened
which suggested that the antifebrileand antibiotic effects of this medicine are partly related to its efficiency to enhancethe immunity against pathogens.
